I don’t have pierced ears. I always had a fear that the strap of my riding hat would catch in the earrings if I fell and rip my ears off. So I haven’t had much earring experience. Clip-ons are hard to find and usually lead to excruciating earlobe pain. Looking at this season’s batch of long feather and skull earrings is giving me some serious ear decoration envy.

This is why the French are more stylish: because they wear their hair (mostly) in a natural way. Unlike London, where hair is often wildly chopped and coloured, a statement on the head, the girls and women you see on the streets of Paris tend to wear their hair long and natural or tied up simply. (Not that they *always* do, just mostly, it seems.)
